Comox Valley Search & Rescue is a fantastic and diverse group of volunteers who come from all walks of life.  CVSAR volunteer for different reason and all pursue a variety of hobbies and occupations outside of SAR, but they all have one common goal, helping those in need when it matters most.  Enjoy our blog series “Who We Are – CVSAR” and learn about all the people that make CVSAR such a great volunteer organization to be a part of.

What do you do outside of SAR for work/hobbies?
Highschool Counsellor for SD71, Family-2 Daughters. Expedition River Rafting Guide during the summer months in Alaska, Yukon, NWT, Western Arctic. Hobbies are Mountain Biking, Backcountry and Nordic Skiing, Mountaineering, Surfing and wood working.

What is your role in SAR?

Team Leader, Water Team, Helicopter Hoist Team, First Aid, Mountain Rescue

What makes you passionate about SAR?
The opportunity to use the skills aquired through a lifetime to help others in need.

What’s been the most rewarding part of being a part of SAR?
Being part of a team dedicated to helping others in need, when they need help the most!

The Comox Valley United Men's Team will host its annual Tommy Butcher Memorial Tournament, raising funds for Comox Valley Search & Rescue's Roof for Rescuers campaign.

This will close in 20 seconds
